How to Compare Matchmakers in Jacksonville, FL

Short answer: compare Jacksonville matchmakers on five things: who actually does the matching, how candidates are vetted, what the fee covers, what happens after each date, and what past clients say. Ask every firm the same questions and compare the answers side by side.

Hiring a matchmaker is a personal decision and a real investment. Jacksonville has several options, from national firms with a local office to boutique services like ours. This guide gives you a fair way to compare them, and shows how 1 True Match answers each question so you can hold us to the same standard.

1. Who Will Actually Be Your Matchmaker?

Ask whether you will work with one dedicated matchmaker or be passed between a sales team and a back office. Ask how many clients the firm takes on at a time.

At 1 True Match: we are a boutique firm, founded in Jacksonville in 2010 by Renee Richel. We limit the number of clients we serve each year so that each one gets direct, ongoing contact with their matchmaker. You can meet the team before you decide.

2. How Are Candidates Found and Vetted?

Ask where introductions come from: an existing database, outside recruiting, or both. Ask what screening is done before you meet anyone, and whether you approve each introduction.

At 1 True Match: every introduction is pre-screened by our team. We run background checks, interview candidates, and present each match to you for approval before a date is arranged. Because we are a Christian matchmaker, shared faith and values are part of the screening from the start.

3. What Does It Cost, and What Is Included?

Matchmaking fees vary widely. Ask for the price range in writing, what the fee covers, how long the search runs, and what happens if you start dating someone and need to pause.

At 1 True Match: packages begin around $20,000 and range up to $75,000, depending on the scope of your search. There are two search types, In-Network and Full Search, and coaching and date feedback are part of the service. Our guide to matchmaker cost explains the difference. The first consultation is complimentary.

4. What Happens After Each Date?

A good matchmaker learns from every introduction. Ask whether feedback is collected from both people and how it changes the next match.

At 1 True Match: after every date you give and receive feedback, and your matchmaker uses it to refine the next introduction. Coaching is available along the way.

5. What Do Reviews and Past Clients Say?

Read reviews in more than one place, such as Google and the Better Business Bureau, and look at how many there are as well as the rating. A handful of reviews tells you less than a long track record. Ask each firm how it defines success, and whether you can hear from past clients.

At 1 True Match: we count success as introducing you to someone compatible whom you want to keep seeing. Since 2010 our work has led to more than 400 marriages. You can read some of those stories on our success stories page.
